Harry E. Hassinger Jr., 69, of Lewistown, passed away at 11 p.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Jan. 29, 1955, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Harry E Hassinger, Sr. and Beverly (Hurlburt) Hassinger, who survives.
In addition to his mother, Harry is survived by: wife, Denise (Lynn) Hassinger; daughter, Amy Miller and husband, Wilson, of Duncannon; three grandchildren, Caitlyn Hile and husband, Matthew, Brittany Hockenberry and husband, Christopher, and Autumn Cox and husband, Dereck; seven great-grandchildren, Nicolai and Avalynn Hile, Alette Hockenberry, and Blake, Jaxson, Harper, and Briar Cox; and a step-great-granddaughter, Realyn Cox.
He was a graduate of Kishacoquillas High School, Class of 1972.
Harry was a member of Havice Valley United Methodist Church.
He was employed by Standard Steel Corp. and later worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp., Harrisburg, in the Rail Shop.
In his early years, he enjoyed racing motorcycles and passed that love and passion onto his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Avenue, Burnham. All are welcome to attend and share in this time of remembrance and celebration.
