Harry Edwin Wray, 86, of McClure, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born June 24, 1936, in McClure, he was a son of the late Harry and Loys (Knepp) Wray. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Joyce Bilger.
He is survived by: companion, Helen Wilson; five children, Doreen Silks and companion, Ronald Macknair, Harry Wray and wife, Melodie, Susan Petry and husband, Douglas, Terry Wray and wife, Nicole, and Cindy Leister and husband, John, all of McClure; nine grandchildren, Bobby Silks and wife, Diane, Jamie Sheetz and husband, Matt, Shannon Miranda and husband, Paul, Craig Leidy and wife, Bobbi, Jennifer Krafcheck and husband, Ryan, Heather Collins and husband, Nathan, Chelsea Hansley and husband, Justin, Annie Mitchell and husband, Andrew, and Katie Specht and husband, Matthew; 16 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Geraldine Stoner, of Strodes Mills, Ronald Wray and wife, Kay, of McClure, and Dorothy Wilt, of McClure.
Harry was employed by Standard Steel Corporation in Machine Shop 1 for 24 years, the Lewistown Sentinel for 24 years, and was a farmer his entire life.
He loved being outdoors and tending to his pond, traveling to Potter County and elk watching, and going out to eat. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured the special qualities of everyone.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Avenue, Burnham.
An additional viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, March 31, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Burnham, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Mr. Scott Sherwood officiating.
Interment will take place at Belltown Cemetery in McClure.
