Helen E. Nepper, 104, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at William Penn Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Born November 3, 1920, in Licking Creek, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Mary (Amey) Stine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Paul L. Nepper of 32 years; a son, Dale E. Nepper; brother, Charles A. Stine, and a sister, Beulah E. Nipple.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth M. Nepper, of Lewistown.
Helen was a lifelong member of Yeagertown United Methodist Church, where she was a member since 1943. She was a communion steward, and president of the United Methodist Women.
She graduated from Fayette High School, Class of 1939.
In her earlier years, she worked as a secretary for the United Steelworker’s Union and later at G.C. Murphy store, where she retired in 1986.
She enjoyed reading, traveling and picnics with her family. She especially enjoyed the holidays with her son and nephew, Reno Nipple and family in Port Royal.
She enjoyed the strong sense of community and support she found at her church.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Steven Small and Rev. Thomas Morningstar officiating.
Interment will be held at Juniata Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen’s memory may be made to Rhodes Memorial U.M.C., 500 Highland Ave., Lewistown.
