Helen Marie (Anderson) Passmore

Helen Marie (Anderson) Passmore, 92, of Belleville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, at 11:42 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born March 28, 1932, in Mattawana, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Frances (Heister) Anderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Passmore, whom she married July 19, 1963, on Feb. 3, 2014; her four brothers, William, Paul, Ralph and Fern Anderson; and a sister-in-law, Hazel Fisher.

Helen is survived by:  her sister, Dorothy Ellinger, of Belleville; four sisters-in-law, Nina Anderson, of Mattawana, Janice Anderson, of Lewistown, Barbara Anderson, of Lititz, and Deborah Carodiskey, of Lewistown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Pine Glen Church of the Brethren in Lewistown, then after relocating to Harrisburg, transferred her membership to the Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren.  Later, she returned to the area and again attended Pine Glen Church of the Brethren for many years.

Helen worked for twelve years at the former Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory.  While residing in Harrisburg, she co-managed the Lebanon Valley Retirement Home Gift Shop for 25 years as a volunteer.

She loved to knit and made many baby afghans for her family and dishcloths for everyone.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, 61 Pine Glen Road, Lewistown, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Connie McClay officiating.

Interment will take place at Pine Glen Cemetery.
