Herbert G. Fisher, 79, of McClure, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022, at his home.
Born August 24, 1942, in Beavertown, Snyder County, he was a son of the late Robert W. and Merian E. (Weader) Fisher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; brothers, Robert W. Fisher, and William W. Fisher.
He is survived by; his wife, Phyllis J. Fisher, whom he married on Nov. 2, 1978; children, Kathleen L. Hassinger and companion, John Hassinger, of Milroy, Herbert M. Fisher ‘Boomer’ and companion, Elaine Kearns, of McClure, Stanton Gene Fisher, of McClure, Christine C. Dieter and husband, Josh, of Kramer; step-sons, Richard Hockenberry and companion, Christa Shawver, of McClure, Scott Hockenberry and wife, Marissa, Michael J. ‘Mike’ Hockenberry and wife, Billie, of McClure; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Harold L. Fisher, of McClure, Roberta Rhodes and husband, John, of Beaver Springs, and Ronald E. Fisher and companion, Rebecca Deppen; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Fisher, of New York, and Brenda (Fisher) Trego.
Herb was a longtime member of McClure American Legion 942, and Union County Sportsman’s Club.
He worked at Lozier Corporation where he drove tow motor and loaded trucks, he retired at age 55 with 35 years of service.
He enjoyed catching snapping turtles, fishing, and ‘gigging’. He loved to be with his family especially, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., May 28, 2022, at Bannerville Fire House, 7547 Stage Road, McClure, PA 17841.
Arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
