Herbert Archie Henry, 72, of McClure, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at his home.
Born November 26, 1946, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Mary (Fye) Henry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: an infant sister, June R. Henry, and other siblings, Violet C. Fye, Beatrice E. Steel, Rella V. Henry, and Charles R. Henry.
He is survived by: wife, Carol A. (Bowersox) Henry, whom he married in 1967; sons, Brian A. Henry and wife, Marty, of McVeytown, and Todd C. Henry and wife, Heather, of Wapwallopen; three grandchildren, Lauren M. Bender and husband, Matthew, Lindsey M. Burdge and husband, Fred, and Aaron C. Henry; siblings, Esther M. (Henry) Sechrist, and Gerald Lee Henry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Herbert was a Chief Logan High School graduate, Class of 1964.
He was a member of Wagner United Methodist Church.
Herbert entered the Army and fought in the Vietnam War from 1964-1967.
He retired from Standard Steel Machine Shop I in 2009.
Herbert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers and had a collection of everything Pittsburgh. He enjoyed going to the State College Spikes games. He also liked to tinker in his woodshop and help at his church, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His family was most important to him, especially his grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to Noon, Monday, November 4, 2019, at Wagner United Methodist Church, McClure, followed by a funeral service, with Rev. Steve Swigart officiating.
Interment will take place at Wagner Cemetery, with military honors by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
