James Stanley Arnold Sr., 68, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his home.

Born November 1, 1956, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Harry L. Arnold and Virginia (Eggler) Shively.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Blake Mitchell; siblings, Nancy Henry and William Shively Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Fye; children, Gloria Arnold, James Fye, Brian Arnold, James W. Arnold and wife, Angela, all of Lewistown, James S. Arnold Jr. and wife, Brooke, of Yeagertown, Donald Arnold, Nellie Arnold, Angela Arnold, all of Lewistown; grandchildren, Chase, Kourtnei, Sara, Dason, Haleigh, Briauna, Brittnay, Aidan, Gabe, Kylie, Emma, Lexi, Hannah, Savannah, Jasmin; seven great-grandchildren, siblings, Deb Settle, Edward Shively, both of Lewistown, Robert Zook and wife, Nancy, of Mifflintown, Leonard Zook, of Bannerville.

James was a 1975 graduate of Lewistown High School.

He was employed by Empire Kosher and Big Lots.

James loved spending time with his family. When they were together he especially loved singing to the grandchildren. He loved following local bands and going to the Bierhaus and Eagles with family and friends.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main ST., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 8 p.m., with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
