James Paul Rudy

James Paul Rudy, 86, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at his home.

Born on April 9, 1935, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late James Mark and Naomi (Johnson) Rudy.

He is survived by; his wife, Joanne Carol (Gracey) Rudy; children, Doug Rudy and wife, Kathleen, of Charleston, SC, and Karen Travitz and husband, Tim, of Millersburg; six grandchildren, Danny McBride and wife, Gia, of Charleston, SC, Liz Wildermuth and husband, Eric, of Fredericksburg, VA, Emily Combs and husband, Erich, of Charleston, SC, Tyler Travitz and wife, Brittany, of Chicago, IL, Kasey Wood and husband, Andre, of Spring Lake, NC, and Seth Landgraf, of Elizabethville; eight great-grandchildren, Evan, Cohen, Declan, Ava, Taylor,  Bryce, Rylan, and McCormack; and two brothers, Robert Rudy and wife, Janet, Donald Rudy and wife, Sandy, both of Huntingdon.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

James was a graduate of Huntingdon High School, Class of 1953.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He served from 1953 to 1957 in the 66th Fighter squadron. He retired from C.H. Miller Hardware in Huntingdon.

In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling out west and to New England. He loved being outdoors and was known for keeping a pristine yard. James also enjoyed sports, football, and reading and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers/Pitt fan.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family, with special services provided by Juniata County Veterans Council.

Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
