James N. Sabol

James N. Sabol, 71, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020.

Born November 17, 1948, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Michael and Anne (Lagoyda) Sabol.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Cochenour) Sabol, with whom he recently celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary. Jim is also survived by his daughters: Jill Raymond and husband, Timothy, of Selinsgrove, Jessica Molek and husband, Ryan, of Reedsville, and Jana Darling and husband, Todd, of Fall Church, VA; his grandchildren: Abigail and Alexander Raymond and Oake and Genevieve Molek; his siblings: Ray Sabol and wife, Ethel, of Maine, Donald Sabol and wife, Marlene of McKeesport, and Michele Harshbarger and husband, Michael, of Belleville; along with 11 nieces and nephews.
Jim was a 1966 graduate of McKeesport High School.

Jim was a veteran who served with the United States Army at Ft Detrick, MD.

He earned his bachelor’s degree at Penn State and was a postgraduate of Johns Hopkins University.

Jim was retired from GE Inspection Technologies, where he worked as a Marketing Executive.

He was a member of the Gettys Ridge Rod & Gun Club and the Lewistown Country Club.

Jim was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose “family” extended far beyond those to whom he was related. He was the life of any party and quick with a joke to make someone smile but also a pillar of strength and support to his family. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and golfing. We know he’ll continue to watch over his family and friends from above, lending strength in hard times and raising a glass to celebrate in good times, while he also keeps his eyes peeled for the biggest buck on the trail.

A receiving of friends will be held from 10 am to 11 am, Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Heller-Hoenstine
Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a memorial service to follow at 11 am at
the funeral home.
