James F. Tully Jr., 69, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019, at home.
Born May 1, 1950, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late James F. and Janet (McCardle) Tully.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather A. Hamilton, who passed in 2014.
He is survived by: his wife, Karen L. (Ferguson) Tully, of Lewistown, whom he married in July of 1969; a daughter, April S. Foltz and fiance, Troy Mills, of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Ethan, Evan and Erin Foltz; former son-in-law, Jonathan Foltz; sister-in-law, Joy Spickler and husband, Josh, of Bellefonte; brothers-in-law, Gary Ferguson and wife, Donna, of West Virginia, and Brian Ferguson, of New York.
James was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1968.
He was a member of the McVeytown United Methodist Church and the National Rifle Association.
Earlier in life, James entered the United States Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal for Germany and Vietnam and other medals, badges, and ribbons during his Army career. He worked at the Lewistown Post Office after he retired from the Army.
He enjoyed being outdoors and going fishing. James was known for his kindness and was always willing to help others. He loved animals and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
