James "Jim" Dalton Obituary

James “Jim” Anthony Dalton, 65, of Reedsville, passed away at 4:43 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born May 12, 1957, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late James R. Dalton, and Angela T. (Mancino) Dalton, of Lewistown, who survives.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew M. Dalton.

In addition to his mother, James is survived by:  his wife, Ronde J. (McKinnon) Dalton; four brothers, Stephen P. Dalton and wife, Teresa, and Timothy Dalton, both of Lewistown, Edmond Dalton and wife, Patricia, of Lancaster, and Robert Dalton and wife, Ann, of Lewistown; sister-in-law, Michelle Dalton, of Mifflin; ten nieces and nephews, Amy Dalton, Paul Dalton, Stephen M. Dalton and wife, Amber, Anthony James “A.J.” Dalton, Aaron Dalton, Carrie Dalton, Brodie Dalton and wife, Whitney, Kylene McCartney and husband, Ryan, Kantor Dalton and Lexie Dalton; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Walker, Kennedy, Lincoln, Micah and Bennett.

He was a graduate of Kishacoquillas High School, Class of 1975, and Bloomsburg University, Class of 1979, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance.

He was the current Vice President and Branch Manager of Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors, State College.

Jim was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown, and board member of the Sacred Heart Parish.  As a member of the Lewistown Knights of Columbus for over 37 years, Jim cared very deeply for his community and held the honorary and highest Fourth Degree title of “Sir Knight”.  He was current treasurer and long-term member of the Getty’s Ridge Rod and Gun Club; member of the Pennsylvania Harness Horseman’s Association; former president, committee member and twice club champion of the Lewistown Country Club; and member of the Nittany Lion Club.

Jim loved and adored his family.  He enjoyed horseracing, hunting, collecting antiques, playing poker with his buddies, watching Penn State football, and most recently, spending time with his cats.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown, with special services by the Knights of Columbus.

A Mass of Christian Burial service will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 28, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 North Dorcas Street, Lewistown, with Father William Weary officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, at a later date.
