Janet P. Rhodes

Janet P. Rhodes, 87, of Mifflintown, formerly of Lewistown, went to be her Lord and Savior Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Born September 15, 1934, in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Albert L. and Hazel M. (Soyster) Rhodes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; a sibling, Lewis C. Rhodes, and his wife Jean S. Rhodes; and a nephew, Kevin L. Rhodes.

She is survived by; two nieces, Cheryl D. Brown and husband, Parke, of Lancaster, PA; Michele C. Rhodes, of Secane, PA; and a niece-in-law, Wanda Rhodes, of Toms River, NJ and multiple great-nieces and nephews.

She actively attended Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church in Mifflintown, where she appreciated the faithful teaching directly from the Scripture.

Janet was an Altoona High School graduate and pursued her degree in nursing at West Jersey Hospital in Camden NJ.

Janet ended her 40-year career as a registered nurse when she retired from Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at age 12 in Altoona, PA. Janet enjoyed her 16 years living at Brookline Village, in Mifflintown and developed many deep, meaningful friendships there.

 A Memorial service will be announced later, this summer.

Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Altoona.

Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
