Jean L. Silkman, 91, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born November 8, 1932, in Mifflintown, she was a daughter of the late James B. and Elmira C. (Zong) Rodkey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley S. Silkman Sr., who passed on Sept. 29, 1996; and brothers, Richard Dean Zong, Donald Rodkey, and Carl ‘Edward’ Rodkey.
She is survived by her son, Stanley S. Silkman Jr. and wife Pamela, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Aaron Silkman and wife, Samantha, of Tingalpa, Australia, Cory Silkman, of Towson, MD; great-grandchildren, Tomas, Eryn Grace, Graham and Grayson Silkman; a sister, Kay Righter, of Lewistown; and loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was a Methodist by faith.
Jean worked at Arrow Shirt factory for 18 ½ years; Artistic Industries for 10 years; and a caregiver/aide at Skills for 20 years, where she later retired.
Everyone who knew her loved her; she was the kindest and most loving person. Family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the love of her life. She enjoyed going to play bingo with friends, she liked going camping, and she enjoyed embroidery. She will be dearly missed.
Services are private family only and at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
