Jessie M. Mitchell

Jessie M. Mitchell, 101, passed away Friday, April 18 2025, at Greenwood Village.

Born April 8, 1924, in Patton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Agustus and Orlena (Dunegan) Warner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred S. Mitchell; daughter, Lori Wagner; two sisters, Mildred Wise and Florence Creamer, and a brother Patrick Warner; son-in-law, Kenneth Sowers.

She is survived by her children Gale (David) Treaster, Lynn P. (Julie) Mitchell, and  Kim M. Sowers; grandchildren Matthew, Brian, Aaron, and Tim Treaster, Andrea Baker, Patrick Mitchell, Elizabeth Nace, Joshua Webster, Jessica Snyder, Gavin and Sydney Taylor; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Jessie was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.

After graduating high school, she trained as a registered nurse and graduated from Mercy General Hospital School of Nursing in 1945.

She was employed as a nurse at F.W. Black Hospital and Lewistown Hospital through 1940’s and 1950’s.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Kevin Coyle officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
