Jewell Kay (Rorah) Simon

Jewell Kay Simon, 66, of Lewistown, passed away at 8:44 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022, at her home.      

Born Sept. 9, 1955, in Spencer, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Robert Rorah and Lorena (Rose) Rorah, of Spencer, Iowa, who survives.    

In addition to her mother, Jewell is survived by: children, Jason Sigears and wife, Lindy, of Aurora, Neb., Mindy Nelson, of Rossie, Iowa, and Sarah M. Porch and husband, Junior, of Lewistown; eleven grandchildren, Cody Klassen, Felicity Lane and husband, Derek, Destiny Haack, Dakota Haack and wife, Brittany, Jack and Emily Porch, and Elizabeth, Issiah, Jonah, Shilo, and Ezrah Sigears; three great-grandchildren, Wade Lane, and Parker and Madeline Haack; and her sisters, Rita Mitchell and husband, Steve, of S.C., Renee Egesdal and husband, Richard, of Spencer, Iowa, and Roberta Schmidt and husband, Brian, of Ariz.    

She was a graduate of Spencer High School, Class of 1973, and went on to complete an accounting certificate program through the Spencer School of Technology.      

Jewell was employed by Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital as a cook.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Evangel Baptist Church, 375 West Fifth Street, Lewistown, followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Steve Jeans officiating.      

A graveside service and interment will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa.
