Jill Rebecca Smith, 69, of Lewistown, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born December 16, 1955, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Thomas and Janet Lou (Naugle) Leach.

She is survived by her daughter, Celeste Smith, of Texas, and a son, Matthew Hashuga; grandchildren, Mara and Liam Hashuga; and her siblings, Julie, Jennifer, and Jerry.

Growing up she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lewistown.

She was a 1973 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School.

Jill dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. Her career took her to multiple states, where she provided compassionate care to patients from Texas to South Carolina and back to Pennsylvania.

She was a passionate supporter of the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team and enjoyed spending time with her beloved dogs, Sophie and Rango.

A receiving of friends will be held from 11 am until noon, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with a memorial service to follow at 12 p.m.

Private interment will be held at Juniata Memorial Park.
