Joan R. Gutshall

Joan R. Gutshall, 79, of Lewistown, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at her home.

Born June 1, 1940, in McClure, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late James W. Klinger and Madge (Hoffman) Phillips.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, William H. Gutshall, whom she married in 1985, in 2006; a grandson; and a half-brother.

Joan is survived by: five children, Herbert E. McCartle and wife, Hulda, of McVeytown, Cheryl Ann McCartle, Debra J. Cramer and husband, Mike, and Barry Ritter, all of Lewistown, and Richard J. McCartle and wife, Lyn, of Calif.; four stepchildren, Randy and Brian Gutshall, Chris Snyder, and Kim Barner, all of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Bubb, of Fairless Hills, Pa., brother, James A. Klinger, of Lewistown; and half-sister, Helen Phillips, of Lewistown.

Joan retired from Lewistown Hospital's Intensive Care Unit as a nurse's aide.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Per her wishes, no services will be held.
