John W. Bilger, 71, of Lewistown, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital.
Born February 28, 1949, in Bellefonte, he was a son of the late Earl F. and Mary E. (Confer) Bilger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Teri Lou Bilger; and grandchildren, Blaine Hoar, and Sky Bilger.
He is survived by: wife, Beatrice K. (Smith) Bilger, whom he married on February 4, 1968; children, Jesse Bilger, of Granville, Tonya L. Miner, Tolly L. Sunderland and husband, Bob, Jeremy J. Bilger and wife, Amy, Johnna Bilger and companion, “G” Geracia, all of Lewistown; grandchildren, Ross Arnold, Austin Bilger, Tessa and Jay Miner, Fern and Tagg Silfies, Sully Sunderland, Kenzie, Rylie, Annie, Mady, and Laben Bilger, Arris, Zac, and Ella Hoar; siblings, Bonnie Bargraff, of State College, Nancy Bigelow and husband, Peanut, of Milroy, Guy Bilger and wife, Mary Kay, of Lewistown, Deb Ghaner and husband Fred, of Oceola Mills, Kathy Ross and husband, Don, of Spring Mills, Sam Bilger and wife, Faith, of Milroy.
John worked in construction for most of his life.
He was a member of the A.B.A.T.E. Motorcycle Organization.
John loved being around his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching westerns, storytelling to the grandchildren, being outdoors and going fishing boating, camping, and long car rides.
A receiving of friends will be held from 11 a.m. to Noon, Monday, July 13, 2020, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown with a memorial service to follow at noon, with Lieutenant Michael Buzzard officiating.
Interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery.
