John J. Earnest Jr.

John J. Earnest Jr., 75, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

John was born on February 14, 1951, in Lewistown. He was the son of the late John J. Earnest Sr. and Edna A. (Smith) Earnest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tina M. (Guthridge) Earnest, as well as his brothers, Kenneth and Harold Earnest.

He is survived by his children, John J. Earnest III and wife, Liz, of McClure, Scott A. Earnest and wife, Lori, of McClure, Randal T. Earnest, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Nakeisha, Nataizsha, Randee, and Reed Earnest, Savannah Bartell; great-grandchildren, Serenity (Paige) Addison and Colten Manning, Myah Dyal; siblings, Calvin Earnest and wife, Sheila, Anita Burdge and husband, Ron, Judy Melius and husband, Bill, all of Lewistown; many loving nieces and nephews.

John was a Highland Chief Logan life member. He had a long and dedicated career at Trinity Plastics, where he retired after 34 years of service.

John enjoyed watching Nascar and sprint car racing.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at William Penn for their love and care.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday May 8, 2026, at Mount Rock Cemetery with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
