John D. French, 79, of Ferguson Valley, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Celebration Villa of Reedsville.
Born January 22, 1946, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Donald and Naomi (Ranck) French.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steven French.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith Ann (Spickler) French; two sons, Jon A. French, of Huntingdon and David French and wife, Deanna, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Ethan, Ryan, and Aidan French; and a brother, Daryl French and wife Barbara, of McVeytown.
John was a respected member of Spring Run Church of the Brethren community.
He graduated from Rothrock High School in 1963 and earned his teaching degree from Shippensburg University.
He dedicated his career to educating students within the Mifflin County School District, from which he later retired.
In his leisure time, John enjoyed pursuing his passions for travel, hunting, fishing and collecting license plates.
A private memorial service will be held at the family’s convenience.
