John H. Habbershon, 83, of Burnham, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Brookline Manor, in Mifflintown.
Born October 23, 1939, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late John W. and Martha E. (Patton) Habbershon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Lesley A. (Shirk) Habbershon; a son, John Glenn Habbershon; sisters, Helen Berheisel, M. Lorraine Newlin, and Mary Jane Krepps.
He is survived by; daughters, Tammy Walker and husband, Scott, of Reedsville, and Karen Kauffman and husband, Jeff, of Port Royal; grandchildren, Meghan, Ashlee, Ericka, Marissa, Rachael, Cheyenne, and Savannah; great-granddaughters, Islyn, Lily, and Mia.
He was a member of Burnham Church of the Brethren. A lifetime member of Burnham Volunteer Fire Company, Burnham Borough Council, and Brookpoint Lodge Hunting Camp. He was Vice President of Yeagertown Fire Co., and Newtown Fire Co.
John was a Chief Logan High School graduate, Class of 1957.
He was the owner and operator of Rager’s Floor Covering from 1957 until he retired. He also worked at Fisher’s Busing for 25 years.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, May 8, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
