John M. Markley, 79, of Lewistown, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at William Penn Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Born January 11, 1943, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late John H. and Charlotte E. (Walker) Markley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; two infant brothers, and a brother, Paul R. Markley.
He is survived by; his wife, Joanne E. (Logan) Markley, of Lewistown; children, Chrissie Longacre, of Reedsville, Ronald Dine, of Indiana, Pa., and Kimberly Dine, of New York; a brother, Ronald M. Markley, and wife, Vivian, of Wisconsin; and a sister-in-law, Grace Markley, of Lewistown.
He worked for Fisher Electronics/Sanyo for 36 years, and at Tom’s Convenience Store in Reedsville.
John was a Chief Logan High School graduate, Class of 1961.
He grew up in the Lewistown CMA Church. John enjoyed being outdoors working in his vegetable garden, mowing the yard, and going for long drives and in his younger years he enjoyed going hunting. He loved his family and his dogs, Blackie, and Buffy.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., with Rev. John Looney officiating.
Interment will be held at Juniata Memorial Park.
