John David “Dave” Reside, 68, of Lewistown, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Geisinger–Lewistown Hospital.

Born October 4, 1956, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late John Park and Ruth Eileen (Troutman) Reside. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Reside, and his grandson, Dillen Linsenbach.

Dave graduated from Newport High School. Dave was the owner/operator of Reside’s Auto Body and Towing Service for over 25 years and later retired from Overhead Door in Lewistown, Pa. Known for being rough around the edges, but always willing to lend a hand, Dave would do anything to help someone in need. He had a knack for fixing just about anything and a sense of humor that shone through in the jokes he loved to tell. He was a hard worker all his life, he enjoyed time spent in his garage, especially alongside his son, Cory, and cheering together at Port Royal Speedway. In retirement, Dave also discovered a love of gardening, with his homegrown tomatoes becoming his favorite snack. Above all, the most important person in his world was his wife, Christine, who remained the center of his life and happiness.

He is survived by his wife, Christine D. (Stitt) Reside; his children, Cory Reside and wife, Melissa; Jessica Napier and Jessica Ward; and his grandchildren, Tyler Reside, Madison Reside, Leighton Napier, Aidan Reside, and Hudson Ward.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
