John "Johnny" D. Bishop

John D. “Johnny” Bishop, 43, of Lewistown, passed away unexpectedly at 10 p.m., Sunday, March 7, 2021, at his home.  

Born Sept. 30, 1977, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Daniel S. Bishop Sr. and Connie (Weaver) Alshokirat, of Lewistown, who survives, and the stepson of Connie’s husband, Khaled M. Alshokirat. 

In addition to his father, Johnny was preceded in death by: a sister, Nellie M. (Bishop) Blewett; brother-in-law, Joseph Blewett; and an aunt, Susan Collins.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, Johnny is survived by: son, Gabriel Bishop, of Milroy; companion, Kristie J. Shilling; step-children, Leah Fultz, of Lewistown, Hunter Fultz, of Mifflintown, and Eric D. Shilling Jr., of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Kadyn and Grayson Fultz, of Mifflintown, and Alaina Bezold, of Lewistown; and siblings, Connie S. Wagner and husband, Brett, of McClure, Daniel Bishop Jr. and wife, Jody, of Reedsville, and Jason L. Bishop, of Lewistown.       

Johnny was employed by ACPI of Thompsontown as a cabinet frame builder.  

He loved hunting and fishing, spending time with family, and visiting family in Colorado.  Johnny enjoyed listening to music, especially by The Grateful Dead.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown, followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m., with Pastor Travis Habbershon officiating.
