Joseph E. Forshey, 63, of Lewistown, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Born on August 26, 1960, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Lillian R. (Yoder) Forshey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Forshey; two sisters, Vicky Forshey and Anna Packer; brother-in-law, Mark Hutchison.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie L. (Bay) Forshey, whom he married July 2, 1988; children, Gregory Forshey and wife, Amanda, of North Ridgeville, OH, Deanna Davis and husband, Kirk, and Katie Wilson and husband, Allen, both of Lewistown; grandchildren, Amelia, Samantha, Alexis, Bridget, Cody, Dawson, Ethan, Isabella; siblings, Rebecca Hutchison, and John Forshey and companion, Bobbi Jo white, both of Lewistown.
Joseph was a member of the Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Yeagertown.
He was a 1980 Chief Logan High School graduate.
Joe enlisted in the United States Army National Guards, where he served 6 years.
Earlier in life, he worked at Lewistown Hotel at the front desk, Empire Kosher, and as a Refuge Collector for Lewistown Borough.
Joe was always ready for a good meal along with his Pepsi. He loved watching football and traveling with his family. He loved to dress up with the kids on Halloween. He enjoyed astronomy and star gazing, singing country music, Elvis and Gospel. He was good hearted, had a good sense of humor, and he was strong, caring, kind, and loving.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
