Joyce W. (Whiteman) Moore

Joyce W. Moore, 84, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at her home.

Born March 6, 1937, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late John and Clayre (McCardle) Whiteman. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Moore, Aug. 24, 2012, a brother, John Whiteman Jr., and sisters, Jeanne Ferreira and Jackie Varish.

Joyce is survived by: daughter, Joan Marie (Moore) Schmidt and husband, Craig, of Carlisle; grandchildren, Rachel, Logan and Alexis; and a brother, Joseph Whiteman and wife, Barbara, of Havelock, N.C.  

Joyce was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1955.

She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

Early in life, she was employed as a bookkeeper and teller at Russell National Bank for 14 years.  She later became a licensed practical nurse and retired from Lewistown Hospital in 1995 with 14 years of service.      

A private graveside service will be held at Lind Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
