Joyce A. Mowery

Joyce A. Mowery, of Burnham, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 20, 2022, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born August 8, 1946, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Anna Mary (DeArment) Lutz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; an infant son; a brother, Richard Lutz: a sister, Patricia Walter; and two nephews.

She is survived by; her husband, Gerald E. Mowery, whom she married May 6, 1966; children, Marc L. Houser and companion, Trace Meixel, of Burnham and Beth Mowery-Burkey and husband, Mark, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Zachary Houser and wife, Laine, Cynthia Coggins and husband, Gerad; great-grandchildren, Blake and Bailey Yoder, Raleigh Houser and Amelia Joyce Coggins whom Joyce was honored to have been given her namesake.

Joyce was a life member of Freedom Ave. United Methodist for over 50 years.

She was a Chief Logan High School graduate, Class of 1964.

Joyce loved her church family and was very active in the church and had a great love for the Lord. Her family was her greatest joy especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at William Penn nursing home and the caregivers at UPMC Hospice.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family and her dear friend Randy Traxler.

Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, PA 17009.
