Joyce E. Sheaffer

Joyce E. Sheaffer, 96, of Lewistown, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at Greenwood Village.

Born April 19, 1927, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Brice Boyer Bottorff and Mabel Marie (Henry) Bottorff.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Raymond W. ‘Ted’ Sheaffer.

She is survived by a son, Alan Lee Sheaffer, of Seattle, WA; and granddaughters, Hannah Wynne Sheaffer and Olivia Nicole Sheaffer.

Joyce was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a longtime soprano in the choir.

She was a graduate of Lewistown High School, Class of 1945, and a graduate of Susquehanna University, Class of 1949 with a BS in music education but never taught music professionally. Instead, she worked as a caseworker for the Mifflin County Department of public assistance.

Per her wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
