Joyce Ruth Shumaker, 88, formerly of McVeytown, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:50 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at Greenwood Village, Lewistown.

Born Dec. 22, 1935, in Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Ethel (Grove) Myers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, Gene L. Shumaker, July 28, 2012; three children, Jackie Amspacker, Melinda L. Rhodes, and Cory S. Shumaker; brothers, Carl, George, and Samuel Myers; and sisters, Eleanor Lancaster, Thelma Folk, and Pearl Lane.

Joyce is survived by: daughter, Tara J. Morrison and husband, Kevin, of McVeytown; ten grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Joyce owned and operated Shumaker’s Beauty Salon for many years.

Private interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, where she will rest beside her husband, Gene.
