Kathryn V. Mateer, 77, of Milroy, passed into the presence of the Lord on Friday, September 27, 2024, at her home.
Born June 12, 1947, in Reedsville, she was the daughter of the late Irvin R. and Annabell M. (Gonsman) Fultz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Mateer Jr., who passed in November 2020; and a brother, Irvin L. ‘Toady’ Fultz.
She is survived by her children, Lori K. Mateer, Amy J. Seachrist and husband, Shawn, and Roy C. ‘Mack’ Mateer, all of Milroy; grandchildren, Derek S. Mateer and wife, Shana, Taylor K. Stevens and husband, Frank V,and Dakota J. Mateer; one great-granddaughter, Rosaleigh M. Mateer; siblings, Alma ‘Sis’ Bartlebaugh, of Lock Haven, Dennis Fultz and wife, Paula, of Milroy, Judy Hemberger and husband, Michael, of Altoona, Terry Fultz and wife, Diane, of Milroy, John Fultz and wife, Belinda, of Lewistown.
Kathryn was a member of Milroy Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Milroy.
She was a Kishacoquillas High School graduate, Class of 1965.
She worked at Jarden Plastics in Milroy, where she retired after 26 years.
Kay had the gift of giving. She generously gave freely and happily to family, friends, and strangers while expecting nothing in return and never wanting to draw attention to herself for her gifts. She was an avid walker and almost every morning for more than 15 years walked up Stillhouse Hollow Road with her walking buddy Sharon.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
