Kathy Arlene Keefer, 71, of Lewistown, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025, at her home.

Born on July 4, 1953, in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Lee Myron Smith Sr. and Coritha Arlene (Lamoreaux) Muckelmann.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, siblings, Lee Smith Jr. , and Cynthia Smith; and a nephew, Michael Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Michael C. Keefer; children, Marshall McKalips, and Kristian McKalips and wife, Beth, both of State College; foster children, Reid and Jason Kise, Jessica Smith; grandson, Michael McKalips; siblings, Donna Smith, of Turbotville, John Smith and wife, Yvette, of Hillsborough, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathy’s faith was an important part of her life, and she was a dedicated member of the Jehovah’s Witness community.

Kathy worked for many years as a nurse in private care.

She loved crocheting, needlepoint, and reading, and she enjoyed online gaming and bingo.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

A private graveside will take place at Vira Methodist Cemetery.
