Kenneth L. Searer, 69, of Decatur Township, McClure, passed away at 6:10 a.m., Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born March 30, 1950, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Glenn and Margaret (Miller) Searer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Searer, and sisters, Doris Hall and Peg Plank.
Kenneth is survived by: daughters, Christie Searer and companion, Bob Kauffman, of Reedsville, and Kelly Searer-Bingman and husband, Mike, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Katie Hammond, Dustin Searer, Macey Dressler and Melanie Walter; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Patty Searer and companion, "Did" Rose, of Lewistown, Susie Royer and husband, "Chick", of Lewistown, and Sonny Searer and wife, Donna, of Yeagertown.
He graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1967, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He retired as manager of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7011, Lewistown, after 37 years.
Kenneth was a member of VFW Post 7011, the American Legion in McClure, Lewistown Moose Family Center, and Marine Corps League.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. The memorial service will follow at 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home, with military honors by VFW Post 7011.
