Larry E. Knepper Obituary

Larry Edward Knepper, 89, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Greenwood Village, Lewistown.


Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Leone, and leaves behind five children, sons Larry L. Knepper, Mark E. Knepper, Terry L. Knepper, and Dennis C. Knepper and wife, Tracy, and daughter Christine L. Bressler and husband, David; step-children, Carl W. Logan Jr., Cindy K. Thompson, Delores E. Hoar.


He also leaves behind a beloved number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.


Larry was born in Decatur Township, Mifflin County on June 26, 1935, a son of the late Merle E. Knepper and Bessie M. (Gill) Knepper. Larry was preceded in death by his sister Joyce A. Yoder and is survived by his brothers and sister Glenn A. Knepper, Nancy J. Dobson, and Richard L. Knepper and numerous nieces and nephews.


Larry served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1957 as an administrative clerk with the 6970 Support Group.  After his service, Larry graduated from Shippensburg State Teachers College and dedicated his life supporting the community by working for the Mifflin County School District. He taught Special Education as a full-time teacher for 38 years and then as a substitute teacher for almost another 20 years following his retirement.


His passions included following Penn State wrestling and football, playing cards, attending wrestling matches with his closest friends, searching for antiques at yard sales, and spending time with his family and friends.


Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, where private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
