Larry 'Bud' Ray Campbell Obituary

Larry Ray ‘Bud’ Campbell, 72, of McClure, passed away at his home on Friday, December 26, 2025.

Born on December 23, 1953, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late John A. and Cardie May (Allen) Campbell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Miriam ‘Mindy’ Williams.

Bud was the beloved husband, of Linda (Bishop) Campbell, whom he married on September 9, 1978. Together they built a life filled with countless memories. He is also survived by his children, Jamie Thomas and husband, Neal, Jessie Campbell and husband, Frank, and John Campbell; he was the proud grandfather of Colin and Cameron, who brought him endless joy; brother-in-law, Rick Williams, of Lewistown; sister-in-law, Brenda Bishop, of Lewistown; he also loved his canine companions Dutch and Cooper.

He was a 1971 graduate of Penn Highlands High School. Larry worked many jobs over the years, always willing to lend his skills and strong work ethic wherever he was needed. He retired from the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, a role he took great pride in.

He was a longtime member of Hickory Springs Camp, where he made many cherished memories; and also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Larry’s faith in God was a meaningful part of his life and gave him strength and comfort throughout his journey.

Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially spending time fishing along the Juniata River, one of his favorite spots. He and his family loved taking the boat out on Raystown Lake and enjoying the water and time together. Camping trips were a highlight of their life, often ending with a big seafood boil around the fire. He also treasured beach vacations, road trips, and any time spent outdoors and with the people he loved. A proud fan of Penn State and Dallas Cowboys, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on his teams.

Larry will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather whose love, humor, and steady presence touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to One Dog at a Time or Centre County Paws.
