Lavonne A. (Baer) Hockenberry

Lavonne A. Hockenberry, 86, formerly of Mifflin, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lewistown, surrounded by her family.

Born Dec. 1, 1936, in Mill Creek, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late William Baer and Gladys (Long) Varner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lee V. Moore, Charles Lyter, and Bruce Hockenberry; a daughter, Deborah Young; brothers, Gerald Arnold and Eddie Arnold; and her sister, Flo Ann Arnold.

She is survived by: five children, Brenda Bumgardner and husband, Donald, of Burnham, Dennis Moore and wife, Cindy, of Pottstown, Daniel Moore, of Lewistown, David Moore and companion, Rachel Ritter, of Lewistown, and Dorothy Patrick and husband, Frank, of Upland; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Arnold, of Calif.

Lavonne was Baptist by faith.  She was deeply devoted to her family and loved her children and grandchildren.

She retired from Lewistown Hospital as a dietary aide.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Avenue, Burnham, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date at Mount Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
