Lewis C. Johnson

Lewis C. Johnson, 87, of Lewistown, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Greenwood Village.

Born June 25, 1937, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Lewis R. and Mary Grace (Moyer) Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Briggs; and brother-in-law, George Briggs.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela (Huffnagle) Johnson, whom he married July 27, 1974; two sons, Lewis R. Johnson, of York, Rex A. Johnson and wife, Billie Jo Berson-Johnson, of Wellsboro; four grandchildren, Samantha, Maxwell, Derek, Elizabeth Johnson; sister, Alma Johnson,  of Beaver Springs.

He was a member of Freedom Avenue Unite Methodist Church, Lewistown Moose Lodge #143, ACTW Retirees.

Lewis was a 1955 class graduate of Beaver Vocational .

He was a United States Air Force veteran, he served 1955 to 1959.

Lewis worked at Standard Steel in machine shop II for 36 ½ years.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Burnham, with Rev. Stephen Portner officiating.

Interment will be held at Birch Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Juniata County Veterans Council.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Ave. UMC.
