Lottie Elizabeth Stimely, 89, of Lewistown, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at her home.
Born January 31, 1936, in Lockes Banks, she was the daughter of the late Ernest E. and Dorothy (Bubb) Eckley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Stimely; stepson, Mark F. Stimely; and siblings, John W. Eckley, and Howard E. Eckley.
She is survived by her daughter Beth E. Armstrong and husband, Charles Jr., of Milroy; grandchildren, Rachel E. Weber and companion, Kevin Lynch, James G. Weber and wife, Natalie; great-grandson, James Carter Weber; siblings, James K. Eckley, of Milroy, Ralph E. Eckley and wife, Paula, of Milroy, Harold S. Eckley and wife, Carol, of Allensville, Thomas A. Eckley and wife, Linda, of Milroy, Janice E. Peachey, of Burnham, Nancy J. Seaholtz and husband, David of Milroy.
She was a graduate of Armagh Brown High School.
A loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lottie played a guiding role in her siblings lives and remained devoted to her family throughout her entire life.
Lottie was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she happily volunteered her time managing the church kitchen, preparing and serving meals and helping with the shoe bank.
She also cooked regularly for Meals on Wheels at the Reedsville and Lake Park kitchens.
Throughout her career, she brought her warm and generous spirit to various roles but cooking was her gift and her passion. Early in life she worked at the 322 Diner, the Cake Converting Dept. at the American Viscose, Simply Sandwiches; and was a cook at Lewistown Elks Club.
A receiving of friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor John Reed officiating.
Interment at a later date will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
