Loyce L. Harpster, 87, of Burnham, passed away at 1:52 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Ohesson Manor.
Born May 24, 1933, in Ridgway, Elk County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel R. and Dorothy (Leiter) Graham.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Kelly” Harpster, in 1974, and a son, Stephen S. Harpster, Nov. 2018.
Loyce is survived by: son, Lewis K. Harpster and wife, Cindy, of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Rebecca, Zachery and Shawn Harpster; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nylaya, and Andrea.
She was a member of Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church.
Loyce loved living in Burnham and was best known for her service as the mayor of Burnham, and for her community spirit. She served three terms in office from 1994 to 2005 and was a member of the Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association (PSMA) and the Association of Mayors of the Boroughs of Pennsylvania (AMBP).
Loyce was a dispatcher for Burnham Borough for 33 years, a member of the Burnham Fire Company and Auxiliary, Burnham Community Day Committee, and Ladies of the Lewistown Moose Auxiliary.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, followed by the funeral service, with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
Interment will take place at Birch Hill Cemetery, Eighth Avenue, Burnham.
