Lynn Norris Obituary

Lynn E. Norris, 82, of Yeagertown, entered into Heaven at 5:41 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Sept. 17, 1938, in Flushing, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late James and Kathryn (Overholt) Irons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, William B. Norris Sr., whom she married June 16, 1973; two sisters, Barbara J. Brown and A. Duane Irons; and an infant daughter, Susan L. Hill.  She was the last of her immediate family.

Lynn is survived by: her first husband, Howard F. Hill and his children, Nancy L. Boord and husband, John, of Newport News, Va., and James W. Hill, of Yeagertown; daughters, Diane K. Breeze and Martha A. Norris, both of Yeagertown; step-children, Debra M. Goshorn, of Mifflintown, Tresa L. Swartz, of Mexico, Pa., and William B. Norris Jr., of Lewistown; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren with three great-grandchildren on the way; a niece and several nephews; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Robinson, of Wilmington, Del.

She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Lewistown Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1996.

Her faith in the Lord was unwavering and she thoroughly loved listening to gospel music.  She also enjoyed attending church camp with her sister, Duane, for many years.

Lynn had a vivacious personality and an incredible sense of humor.  Always ready with words of encouragement, wisdom and comfort, we will never forget her wit, kindness, charm, grace and love for others.  She was extremely loved and will be greatly missed.  We love you, ALWAYS.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family, with Lynn's grandson, Erik D. Boord officiating.

Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery, Oakland Ave., Lewistown.

Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
