M. Lavonne Ball of Lewistown narrowly missed her goal of living to 100 years old, passing away Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Greenwood Village, at 99.

Lavonne was a 1944 graduate of Lewistown High School. She lived for many years with her mother on East Walnut Street before moving to the Kish Apartments in the mid-2000’s, moving to Greenwood Village several years ago.
Lavonne worked at the Red Cross office after high school, later joining the American Viscose Corporation (FMC Corporation), where she was as a clerk typist for 28 years. Lavonne then worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory for 12 years, retiring in 1985.
Lavonne was a member of Lewistown Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School for 20 years. Also, she was a volunteer at the Lewistown Hospital for many years.
While Lavonne never had children of her own, she had deep, loving relationships with her many nieces and nephews. Those lucky enough to have grown up in Lewistown with Lavonne enjoyed many trips with her to Long’s Dairy for milkshakes and raisin cookies.
Arrangements for Lavonne were made by Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown and she was interned in Lind Memorial Cemetery next to her mother, father and brother Cliff.
