Margaret (Margie) A. (Folk) Goss, of Lewistown, died on Sunday, Nov.1, 2020, at the age of 99 at Brookline Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Mifflintown.
Born on October 30, 1921 in Yeagertown, to Charles Folk and Ada Folk, both deceased.
Margie was a 1939 graduate of Lewistown High School and the Lewistown School of Nursing in 1942.
Margie married the love of her life, David L. Goss in 1945, he passed away in 2001. Together, they enjoyed fifty-five years of joy and laughter, often fishing in the Outer Banks, NC, traveling around the country and spending time with friends and family.
Margie was an active member in the church and her Sunday school class at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewistown and served as the treasurer for many years. She had a knack for telling stories, a sharp wit, and a loving heart.
She served as an emergency room nurse at the Lewistown Hospital and at the office of Dr. McClain for a combined 32 years.
In retirement, Margie and her husband Dave babysat dozens of children who still view her as their grandmother “Meme”. She joyfully attended their holiday dinners, concerts, plays, sporting events, graduations, and weddings.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Folk.
Her surviving relatives include Peggy and Ron Cote, of Albuquerque, NM and Thomas Folk and Debbie Koch, of Mill Hall.
There will be no public viewing or funeral, due to the ongoing pandemic. Please respect these wishes.
