Maynard D. Dietz, 83, of Burnham, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, in Mifflin.
Born November 12, 1938, in Ickesburg, he was a son of the late Earl Dietz and Anna (Clouse) Fidler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Bender.
He is survived by; his wife, Sandra R. (Myers) Dietz, whom he married on Nov. 23, 1960; sons, Carl Dietz and wife, Rose, of Lewistown, Jeffrey Dietz and wife, Shelby, of Mifflintown, and Mike Dietz and wife, Mary, of Mattawana; grandchildren, Susan Geise and husband, Keith, Emily Brown and husband, Ed, Jennifer Hockenberry and husband, John, Casey Dietz, Tyler Dietz, Dylan Dietz, and Kyle Dietz; and 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dale Dietz and wife, Nancy, of Indiana, Ida Wine and husband, Jim, of Indiana, Duane Dietz and wife, Linda, of Elliottsburg, and Debra Nevins and husband, Rick, of Virginia.
He was a graduate of Greenpark Union High School, Class of 1956.
In his earlier years, Maynard worked at Fisher Electronics, and American Viscose, DME Company in the machine shop, and lastly at the Standard Steel, where he retired.
He was an avid outdoorsman, that loved hunting, fishing, and golfing. He enjoyed being with his family and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
A receiving friends will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a memorial service to follow at 12 p.m., with the Rev. Sherman Stoltzfus officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
