Michael "Mike" Ryne Wagner, 65, of Lewistown, passed away on June 2, 2025 at home after a two-year, courageous fight with cancer.
He was born on November 24, 1959 in Lewistown. He was the son of the late R. Dean Wagner and Carole Ann (Ruble) Wagner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, R. Scott Wagner; his sister-in-law, Amy Jo Wagner; and his niece, Sarann A. Wagner.
Mike is survived by his wife, Marikay (Dunlap) Wagner, who he married on June 24, 1994. He is also survived by his two daughters; Dr. Michaela Wagner and husband, Ryan Schmeck of Winston-Salem, NC; Mackenzie Copenhaver and husband, Colton of Hagerstown, MD; and one newborn grandson, Baker Michael Schmeck, who he spent time with in his final few days.
Mike is also survived by his sisters and brother - Vickie Peters and husband, Steven of Reedsville, PA; Steven Wagner and companion, Teresa Williams of Lewistown, PA; Toni Goss and husband, Donald Jr. of Lewistown, PA; and a best friend who was like a brother to him, Chris Shilling and wife, Michelle of Narvon, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including one special nephew, Kyler Goss.
Mike was a graduate of Chief Logan High School, Class of 1977. He recalled his high school days with fondness, especially playing football.
Mike was a Methodist by faith.
He was known for his love of hunting, fishing, and racing.
Anyone who knew Mike knew that he always had a story to tell about his hunting experiences, along with pictures to show on his phone. He never passed up an opportunity to teach a child how to hunt and respect the forest.
Mike loved to race (and win) with championships under his belt at Clinton and Clearfield raceways. He was always an avid Phillies and Kansas City Chiefs fan as well.
He was a certified welder by trade and held numerous jobs throughout his life. He retired from C&C Fabrication and Welding in Snow Shoe, PA.
Later in life, Mike became "Mr. Fix It" for his children and other family members, always carrying a bag of tools with him wherever he went. He could repair, fabricate, or build anything that anyone needed, even in his last few months of life.
He will be forever remembered by his family for his ability to fix anything, make us laugh with his special sense of humor, and tell riveting stories.
