Milton D. "Whitey" Mondo

Milton D. “Whitey” Mondo, 83, of Burnham, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born October 13, 1937, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Edward T. and Dorothy A. (Harris) Mondo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Levenia A. ‘Bean’ Mondo; siblings, Marion Frew and Arvilla Isenberg.

He is survived by; children, Gloria Peachey and husband, Christ, of Yeagertown, Christine Peoples and companion, David Fowler, of Port Royal, and Kim Mondo, of CA; four grandchildren, Justin McKnight and wife, Katie, Joshua Peoples, Nathan Knepp, and Haylee Knepp; three step-grandchildren, Morgan, Blake, and Marissa Peachey; siblings, Aldora Fink, of VA, Edward Mondo, of Newton Hamilton, and Marjorie Matthews, of Mill Creek.

Milton worked at Lozier in McClure, where he retired in 2001.

Earlier in life, he enjoyed woodworking and hunting. He loved his family and faithfully donated blood to the American Red Cross.

A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., with Rev. Darvin Donahey officiating.

Interment will be held at Birch Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Milton’s name to God’s Missionary Church, 1107 W 5th St, Lewistown, PA 17044.
