Miriam "Mindy" Williams Obituary

Miriam Ann “Mindy” Williams, 71, of Lewistown, passed away at 5:48 a.m., Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Greenwood Village.

Born Sept. 1, 1952, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late John Albert and Cardie May (Allen) Campbell.

Miriam is survived by: husband, Richard “Rick” Williams, whom she married June 5, 1982; children, Seth Williams, of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Drew Williams and wife, Jessica, of Belltown, and Courtney Williams, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Brody, Brooks, and Kensie Williams; and her brother, Larry “Bud” Campbell and wife, Linda, of McClure.

She was a graduate of Lewistown High School, Class of 1970, and Morehead State University, where she was a member of the rifle team.

She was an active member of Ellen Chapel Church and served as church secretary for three years.  She also enjoyed being a member of the Mifflin County Garden Club.

Mindy was employed as a special education teacher at Lewistown Elementary School.  She retired in 2005 and continued subbing when needed.

She was very passionate about everything she did.  Mindy was one of the founders of the annual Country Memories Day event in McVeytown and was a Mifflin County chapter member of PA CleanWays that strives to eliminate illegal dumping and littering and preserve the local environment.  She and husband, Rick, sponsored three children for many years under the World Vision International Program.  Mindy enjoyed art and ceramics, had a beautiful voice, was an avid reader and home decorator, and was a big Pittsburgh sports fan.
