Nancy L. (Mauery) Knepp

Nancy L. (Mauery) Knepp, 83, of Lewistown, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at home surrounded by her family, after a seven-month battle with cancer. 

Born June 17, 1937, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Rine and Irene (Kirk) Mauery.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Mauery.

Nancy is survived by: children, Beth Anne Pierce and son-in-law, Randy Pierce, of Lewistown, and Douglas Knepp, of Verona; and a sister, Ann Johnstone and brother-in-law, George Johnstone, of State College. 

Nancy was a well-known organist at several local churches throughout her lifetime, beginning at age twelve and continuing until March of 2020.  She was also a piano teacher for many years and found joy in seeing so many of her students continue on to college to major in music.

She retired from Philips Ultrasound in Reedsville.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family, officiated by Pastor Craig Munnell of Trinity United Church of Christ.

Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main Street, Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
