Patricia Dawn (Bailey) Rhodes, 66, of New Bloomfield, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023,  after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was surrounded by her loved ones at home and went peacefully in her sleep.

Patricia was born on January 26, 1957, in Lewistown, becoming the second daughter to the late Daniel and Betty (Gill) Bailey.

In her passing she left behind her loving husband, Wilbur A. Rhodes Jr., of 48 years and 4 days. In addition to her husband, she leaves two children, Kylie Bard (Matt) and Cody Rhodes (Cassandra); siblings, Vickie Romig (Robert), Rodney Bailey (Holly), Karen Bailey, Jeffery Bailey (Tammy), and Connie Bailey; grandchildren, Joshua Bard, Abigail Bard, Ashley Bard, Jonathan Bard, and Nathaniel Bard, and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia graduated from Rothrock High School in 1976. After graduation she went on to study nursing at Lewistown Vo-Tech and graduated as an LPN. Pat worked as an LPN for many years working in various nursing homes across Cumberland and Dauphin counties. She spent her later years at home caring for her children.

She loved being a grandma, she enjoyed spending time and spoiling her grandchildren every chance she could. She loved being around them whether it was sending them home with bags full of snacks or letting them use her pots and pans as a drum set. All the little things that they did brought her much joy throughout the many years she was a grandmother. 

Patricia attended services at Bible Believers Baptist Church of Newport PA.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

A second viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor David Bard officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
