Patrick "Pat" Lee Naylor, Sr.

Patrick ‘Pat’ Lee Naylor Sr., 77, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his home.

Born Oct. 17, 1946, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Elmer Rex Naylor and Martha L. (Curry) Naylor.

Pat is survived by: his wife, Beverly “Bev” (Thompson) Naylor; children, Patrick Lee Naylor Jr. and wife, Ali, and Tracy Ann Grimm, both of Lewistown; nephew they raised, Blade Kelly, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Bryanna Jade Pellman and husband, Seth, and Morgan Michele Grimm; great-grandchildren, Haylen and Kaycee Pellman; and brothers, James Rex Naylor and wife, Doris, of Houston, Texas, and Gregory J. Naylor and wife, Pam, of Lancaster; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Pat was a graduate of Lewistown High School, Class of 1964, and Shepherd College, Class of 1968.

He most recently attended Bible Baptist Church.

Pat retired from the Mifflin County School District as a teacher of fifth and sixth grade students.  He loved the outdoors and was instrumental in forming the Ski Clubs and outdoor school events held at Shaver’s Creek.  In his earlier years, he served as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 68 and eventually as Assistant Scoutmaster.  He was also a member of the Logan Country Sportsman’s Club in Petersburg. 

Pat was probably best known in the community for the many bands in which he was the “front man” and bass guitarist, including Starlighters, Jokers Wild, Fantasy, Crossover, Blackwater, and Swamp Root.  He was the leader of the local “Rat Pack”.  His family meant the world to him.  He was dearly loved and will be dearly missed.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, with Rev. John Walters officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
