Peggy Dolores Linn, 93, of Lewistown, passed away at 4:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at Celebration Villa of Reedsville.
Born Dec. 12, 1930, in Sunbury, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Ada (Attig) Walter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Shamory, and a grandson, Ryan Linn.
Peggy is survived by: husband, Don Linn, whom she married on Sept. 27, 1950; children, Suzanne Nearhoof and husband, Gene, of Lewistown, and Terry Linn and wife, Susan, of Huntingdon County; grandchildren, Christopher Wagner, and Craig Wagner and wife, Jennifer; and great-grandchildren, Brooke and Hailey Wagner.
She was a Selinsgrove High School graduate.
Peggy was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lewistown.
Peggy was raised on the Isle of Que along the Susquehanna River in Snyder County and loved being near water. Peggy and Don enjoyed many family holidays at Strong Springs Camp. They enjoyed taking trips to Myrtle Beach and cherished many good times spent at their A-frame cabin along the Juniata River.
Peggy was a devoted wife and mother. Affectionately known as “mother of the neighborhood”, friend and stranger alike were always welcomed into her home. Peggy was an avid reader and collector of carnival glassware.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, 200 East Third Street, Lewistown, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Reverend Karen McCachren officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Peggy’s memory may be made to the Mifflin County Library, 123 North Wayne Street, Lewistown, PA 17044.
