Peggy L. Zook, 87, formerly of Reedsville, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, at Greenwood Village.
Born March 2, 1937, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Hazel (Wilson) Horner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary L. Zook, who passed March 15, 2007; siblings, Russell Horner, Lucy Hartley, and Dawn Horner.
She is survived by children, Gary L. Zook and wife, Maxine, of New Jersey, and Leanne J. Condo and husband, Todd, of Reedsville, grandchildren, Erin Shafranich and husband, Justin, Erika Sellers and husband, Joseph; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Owen, Kendyl, Karson, and Jaycee; and a sister, Clara Miller, of Belleville.
Peggy was a member of Freedom Ave United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a Chief Logan High School graduate, Class of 1955.
Peggy worked at Standard Steel in the test lab, where she later retired.
Peggy volunteered at Ohesson Manor. She loved attending Penn State football games, her trips to the beach with her family and traveling with her husband. She was a devoted mother, nana and “Nana Peggy” to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and will he deeply missed.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m, Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Stephen Portner officiating.
Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church, 511 Freedom Ave., Burnham, PA 17009.
